Course Entry/Admission Requirements for BSc in Statistics at Rhema University

Candidates may be admitted into the undergraduate degree programmes of the College in any of the following three ways:-

  1. Through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
  2. By Direct Entry
  3. Through  Inter-University Transfer

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Requirements

  • In general, candidates seeking admission through the UTME into 100 level of any of the four-year programmes leading to the award of Bachelor of Sciences (B.Sc.) degrees of the College should possess at least credit level passes in five subjects which include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics at the Ordinary level (SSCE, GCE, NECO).
  • UTME Subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics at the SSCE or its equivalent.

Direct Entry Requirements

  • Candidates seeking Direct Entry admission to the 200-level of a degree programme should possess, in addition to the minimum of five credit passes at the GCE/NECO/SSCE/WAEC Examinations any of the following:

(a) Advanced level GCE in at least two relevant subjects
(b) Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Certificate
(c) Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) in relevant subjects
(d) National Diploma (ND)Upper Credit in relevant subjects
(e) Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit in relevant subjects
(f) First degree in related field

Inter-University Transfer

  • Candidates wishing to transfer from another University into any of the College’s academic programmes must obtain and complete the Inter-University Transfer form from the university’s Admission Office. Admission by inter-university transfer will be considered only if the College and the receiving Department are satisfied that the candidate has met the minimum academic requirements for admission into the programme of study.
  • All inter-university transfer candidates will normally be admitted into 200 (or lower) level of the receiving programme.

4 years (UTME) or 3 years (Direct Entry)
