Course Entry/Admission Requirements for BSc in Mass Communication at Madonna University

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) credits in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, G.C.E O’Level, or National Examination Certificate (NECO) or their equivalents.
  • The five (5) credits must include English Language, English Literature, a minimum pass (P7) in Mathematics and must be obtained in not more than two sittings. All Students must come in through Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination.

Direct Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level passes in G.C.E or its equivalents plus passes at principal level in HSC or G.C.E. Advanced Level in at least two relevant subjects obtained in one sitting or they must possess five credits including, English Language, English Literature and a minimum of pass in Mathematics plus OND (Upper Credit) in Mass Communication.
  • The basic entry requirements of the credit level passes in five relevant subjects should be obtained in not more than two sittings or they must possess five credits including English Language, English Literature and a minimum of pass in Mathematics plus NCE Certificate, HND or first Degree.
  • Candidates admitted through UME Entrance Examination enroll in the four-year degree programme while those with Direct Entry take three years to complete the programme. Direct Entry students who are expected to begin at the 200 level may be required to take all GST courses simultaneously.

Mode of Application for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Undergraduates

  1. All prospective undergraduates who scored up to 140 in the most recent JAMB UTME are qualified to apply including those who did not choose madonna as first choice.
  2. The stipulated cut-off mark applies to all other courses except Law (200), Medicine (200), Pharmacy (200) and Nursing (200).
  3. Candidates awaiting SSCE result or its equivalent are also eligible to apply for admission provided the result will be available on resumption.
  4. Candidates should collect Screening forms from any of our three (3) campuses or any branch of Mayfresh Mortgage Bank Nation-wide, fill and submit to the officer the form was previously obtained from.
  5. Aslo the form is available online at Fresh Applicants. Open this llink, fill and submit the form online and wait for responses from the university admission office.
  6. Note: Screening and Admission forms are FREE

All intending Candidates must undergo medical examination in Madonna University Medical Centres on payment of necessary medical fees.
