Course Entry/Admission Requirements for B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Petroleum Resources

General Requirements

  • To be admitted into any of the departments in the Undergraduate programme, interested applicants must apply through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) body and score 180 and above, having met the minimum 5 credit O’Level required by the department of interest in not more than two sittings.

O’Level Requirements

  • Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any other subject from either Agricultural Science, Biology, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Auto Mechanical Work, Welding & Fabrication, Air Conditioning &Refrigeration.

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Subject Combination

  • Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry.

Direct Entry Requirements

  • ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Postgraduate Application

Purchase of application form shall be online only. Candidates can pay and complete the application forms online by visiting the University website www.fupre.edu.ng, click on PG Online Application link, then follow the instructions.

Supporting Documents

Applicants should forward the following relevant documents in support of their applications in an envelope, (A4 Size) indicating at the back, the enclosed documents, Form Number and Name.
i.    Photocopy of University Degree Certificate(s)
ii.    Photocopy of NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate
iii.    Photocopy of O’ Level result(s)

Transcripts and Referee’ Reports
1.    Candidates should request their former University/Institution to forward their academic transcript to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Petroleum Resources, P.M.B 1221, Effurun, Delta State. Applications of candidates whose transcripts are not forwarded to the School shall not be processed.
2.    Also, candidates should request their referees to fill the referee’s report and submit online.

a)    Application processing fee for all programmes costs N15,000.00 (Fifteen thousand Naira only)
b)    The progress of completed application forms can be monitored online and notification will be sent to applicants once decisions are made on the applications.
c)    Applicants will be notified of the status of their applications by e-mail.

e)    Applications without transcript will not be considered.
