Course Entry/Admission Requirements for B.A. in French at University of Ibadan

Admission Requirements:

  1. 5 credits at G.C.E. ‘O’ Level or SSCE including English Language
  2. 6 credits at two sittings including English Language
  3. 3 subjects in Arts and the Social Sciences at University Matriculation Examination (UME), at least one Arts subject.

Direct Entry

  1. Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with credit passes in French and any other Arts or Social Science subject
  2. Baccalaureat (for French Studies)
  3. G.C.E. Advanced Level or passes in French and any other subject in Arts or Social Sciences its equivalent (French, German) Those who have adequate qualifications in the other two languages may gain direct entry admission as well.

How to Apply for Admission



Step 1: Candidates are required to log-in to the admission portal using their JAMB Registration Number as their username and their surname as the password. The screening costs N2, 000, which would be paid through the admission portal in favour of University of Ibadan (Admission Processing Fee Account)

Step 2: Candidates should print the payment success receipt displaying the full names of the candidate and JAMB registration number as payee and the payment reference number.

Step 3: Upon successful payment, candidates should proceed to the portal to submit their bio-data and O/level results, following every instruction and writing in CAPITAL letters.

Step 4: Candidates should upload their passport photographs and signature, both of which must be clean, clear, without glasses and, in JPEG. The size must also not exceed 50kb.

Step 5: Print the evidence of completion of the transaction and keep for further reference, while awaiting the date of the Post-UTME examination via email and SMS.
